Senior Photos - Elizabeth Pt2 - Joanna Joy Photography
Senior – Elizabeth – San Diego Beach
I’ve never done a beach session before and when we were planning my niece’s senior photos we added to the fun by planning a girls shopping trip. Because dress shopping is the best. Especially when you find that one – that last one in the store! – that you know will glow in the sunset and flow in the waves! Were we turning heads at the beach? yes. yes we were. and by we I mean her. I was a frizzy haired mess lobster freckled red in the face almost dropping my flash in the waves – true story. That’s pro level right there. You would never know it from these photos but this beach was full of people – there were people constantly shooting at the pier and us desert dwellers were just a little surprised at how fast that tide actually comes in!
I should confess I probably made her jump around more then necessary – because jumping waves has been my favorite since oh 4 yrs old. and dress swishing is kind of an all time favorite girly thing to do too. That’s what I love about her – willing to play along and trust her auntie!! and I think I’ve convinced Elizabeth that salty air textured hair tousled by waving jumping is the best. Not sure how she’ll achieve it again in Tucson but we aim to try!
Ending her session this way was a wonderful treat. I’ve spent these two posts talking about how lovely she is and how fun the session was but what we are really celebrating is so much more then a big smile and glossy long hair! Elizabeth is a top 10 student with drive and dedication and a work ethic that is just impressive. She has goals and opinions and isn’t swayed easily. She has strength and a heart that desires to do good. She’ll be a scholarship student at the University of Arizona, pre-med, pursuing a degree in psychiatry. Whatever her goals, where ever her path leads – I hope that wave jumping laugh never goes away! (See the first part of her senior session on this blog post!)
