Tlaquepaque Wedding
Wedding Venue Review – Tlaquepaque Wedding
A bride asked me recently for advice on wedding venues and I got to thinking of all the lovely places I’ve gotten to visit as part of the wedding industry. And I got to thinking about what makes a great wedding venue and which venues I’d like to recommend.
Years ago, I did a wedding in Sedona Arizona at Tlaquepaque. On our anniversary, my husband and I often go to Sedona to hike along Oak Creek and browse the art galleries. A family friend, Josiane Childers has work featured here! So many amazing artists! By day Tlaquepaque is a beautiful shopping plaza loaded with galleries and restaurant and stunning architecture!
PROS:
Drop dead gorgeous architecture, picturesque ally ways, greenery – yay! and the nearby red rocks of Sedona.
Tlaquepaque has several plazas available for event use and a quaint chapel styled after the haciendas of Old Mexico. If you are planning an intimate wedding, a destination wedding, or a larger local wedding – Tlaquepaque could work for you!
CONS:
Because this is an active commercial space during regular business hours, you don’t have the place to yourself. Shoppers and tourists will peep in on your day and ooh and aah. Kinda like getting married in Italy and walking through the streets with your bridal party – it’s all part of the charm!
